Material Options

Select the right grade for your specific environmental and mechanical requirements.

304 Stainless Steel

General Corrosion / Cost-Effective

Best For

General equipment, indoor wet zones, and mild chemical exposure.

Note

For salt spray or frequent washdown, upgrade to 316.

316 Stainless Steel

Marine Grade / Superior Corrosion

Best For

Marine, washdown, and chemical processing environments.

Note

If higher hardness or wear resistance is needed, consider 440C.

440C Stainless Steel

Bearing Grade / High Hardness

Best For

High wear or higher load contact surfaces.

Note

Lower corrosion resistance than 316; use in controlled or sealed environments.

PTFE Liner (Maintenance-Free)

Self-Lubricating / Low Friction

Best For

Clean applications or joints that are difficult to re-lubricate.

Note

Not ideal for high-speed rotation or impact shock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Spherical plain bearings handle oscillating motion and misalignment under load. They are common in linkages, hinges, and joints where rotation is slow but loads are high.

GE is the standard radial series, GEG is a heavy-duty variant with thicker rings, and GEZ is the maintenance-free series with PTFE liners.

Maintenance-free (PTFE lined) bearings eliminate re-lubrication, ideal for clean or hard-to-service locations. Greaseable types are preferred for heavy loads or dirty environments with routine maintenance.

304 is cost-effective for general wet environments. For salt spray, marine exposure, or frequent chemical washdown, 316 is the better choice.

2RS indicates double-lip seals on both sides of the bearing. This improves contamination control and reduces lubricant loss.
